John Taylor’s Hollywood Hills Villa Sold for $7.8 Million

After nearly two years on the market, John Taylor, the bassist of the iconic British new-wave band Duran Duran, and his wife Gela Nash-Taylor, co-founder of fashion label Juicy Couture, have finalized the sale of their Spanish-style villa situated in the prestigious Outpost Estates of Hollywood Hills.

A Glimpse into the Sale

The property was sold for $7.8 million, reflecting a significant increase from the couple’s original investment of approximately $1.8 million back in 1999. The sale was facilitated by Daria Greenbaum from Compass, alongside agents Steve Frankel and Leah Lail from Coldwell Banker, representing the buyer.

Architectural Details

Originally constructed in 1931, the villa has undergone extensive renovations during the Taylors’ residence. Spanning over 6,200 square feet across three levels, the home features:

  • Four bedrooms and seven bathrooms
  • A grand living room complete with a large stone fireplace and a Juliet balcony
  • A formal dining room overlooking a beautifully landscaped patio
  • A sleek kitchen with high-end appliances including a Lacanche range
The stylish living room features a large stone fireplace and city views from the balcony.

Interior Highlights

The interior design combines modern elegance with classical touches. The entryway showcases a circular foyer adorned with hexagon-shaped tiles. The spacious living room is accentuated by French doors leading to the balcony, while the dining area accommodates up to fourteen guests.

As one ascends the grand staircase, highlighted by stained-glass windows, they access the luxurious primary suite featuring:

  • A cozy seating area
  • Two ample closets
  • A fireside bath complete with dual sinks and an oversized soaking tub

The den and library include custom bookshelves and access to the serene backyard.

Outdoor Amenities

The lower level features a gallery with a tranquil water feature leading to a den and library, both equipped with a fireplace and modern conveniences. Outside, the picturesque grounds are adorned with lush landscaping, palm trees, and intricate gardens. Notable outdoor amenities include:

  • A swimming pool and spa
  • An open-air cabana with a barbecue area
  • A cozy gathering space featuring a fire pit

Final Thoughts

This sale marks a significant milestone in the couple’s real estate journey, having held the property for more than two decades. The home not only captures the essence of Hollywood Hills living but also reflects the luxurious lifestyle associated with its previous owners.
